Kerr, drove race cars, originated and built Stinger chassis, and has been a key figure in East Tennessee racing for over 50 years. His father, Tommy, was involved in the racing business and raced as did other members of the family.
Starting out in Mini-Stocks Kerr won 31 features and two track championships in two years before moving up to Late Models. In the thirteen years he has been behind the wheel of a Late Model he has won over 60 features, two track championships, Rookie of the Year honors in the Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series and the 2009 Southern Nationals Championship.
His racing background and knowledge extends to every aspect of dirt Late Model racing. He can and has built race cars from the ground up doing everything but making the decals. His knowledge of race cars combined with his time behind the wheel, make him a valuable part of Blount Motorsports.
Kerr also knows and understands that his contributions to the team extend well beyond driving and working on the car. He is aware that he is the most visible person on the team and what he does, both on and off the track, directly affects the team
